MG Jobs privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-08

This policy covers MG Jobs, the job-management software sold by Midnight Grid: this account site, license purchases and renewals, and the cloud sync that paid plans include. A business that uses MG Jobs has its own notice for its customers on its own booking pages.

When you buy, renew or start a trial

We keep your company name, the email address on your license, your plan, the number of computers and your license itself, so we can issue, renew and verify it and email it to you. Payments are taken by Stripe on its own checkout page: your card details go to Stripe, never to us. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription references needed to renew your license and to send you to Stripe's billing page when you manage your subscription.

Your business data

Free Offline keeps your business records on your own computer and does not cloud-sync them to us. Checking for updates or opening our account, support or download pages contacts our servers. With an eligible license and cloud sync, MG Jobs syncs your jobs, customers, settings and attached photos to your business's private space on our server, so your other computers, team and customer pages can use them. Structured business records, such as jobs and settings, are encrypted before saving; uploaded files are kept in access-controlled storage. Your team sees only what you give them access to.

License and device checks

Licensed installations send their license and company details, a hashed device identifier, installed app version and job count when checking with our license service. We record check-in times. Installations also report signed-update capability and adoption status, including the last signed update time and bridge version. We use this information to verify licenses, enforce device limits and support update migration. This check does not send the contents of your jobs.

When we open your data

We use synced data to operate, support and protect the service. When staff open or export your business records through the vendor support tools, a reason is required and the access is recorded in your activity log. We also attempt to email your registered contact; delivery depends on the configured email service and is not guaranteed.

Optional connected features

If you use connected features, the data needed for that action goes to the relevant provider: recipients and message content to the email service that sends your business's messages (ours for email sent from the website, or the SMTP server you set in MG Jobs) or to your Twilio account for SMS, addresses to Nominatim for geocoding or your chosen map service, and payment details to Stripe or Square for customer payments, and backup files to your own Google Drive if you turn on Drive backup. Which features are used depends on your plan and setup. Your business is responsible for its own customer notice.

Downloads and emails

We count clicks on the download buttons by day. The download counter uses keyed visitor hashes and does not store raw IP addresses or browser details. Earlier days' hashes are cleared from the live counter when the next download is counted; daily counts are kept for 400 days. This cleanup does not erase existing backups, which may retain earlier copies until those backups are separately deleted or expire. Separate security and audit logs may record requester IP addresses to protect the service. We email you about your license: the license itself, renewals, payment problems and changes to your plan.

Your choices

You can download a complete, readable copy of your data at any time, on any plan, from Settings in MG Jobs. To correct your details or ask us to delete your account data, contact info@midnightgrid.com.
